Two Cents A Meal is an ongoing offering invites church members to put two cents per person into a 2 Cents a meal canister or jar at each meal. On the last Sunday of each month they bring the offering to church. During the regular offering children collect the offerings in soup pots as a special offering.
Two Cents A Meal is a project of The Presbytery of Western North Carolina. The offering is used for various hunger projects. Through the efforts of volunteers this project is marvelously efficient 50% of the funds are used for international relief. 40% of the funds are directed toward local relief projects.The remaining 10% cover administrative costs.
It Adds Up! In 1997 Collections amounted to over $1000.00 ... Two cents at a time.
Want to get involved? Join us on the last Sunday of the month and have your offering ready. Can't make it! Send your donation directly to the Church Office. Be sure to mark your offering Two Cents A Meal so it may be put to work in the area you desire.
As of June 14, 2002 the Presbytery of Western North Carolina's Hunger Committee approved $16,000 from 2 cents a meal money for international projects:



$10,000 for the famine in Malawai & surrounding



$ 3,000 for food relief in palestine



$ 3,000 for relief in the aftermath of the earthquake
